Man-animals conflicts can be successfully reduced through use of properly designed and installed electric fences with high quality materials and a little maintenance. Cheap fences on the other hand do not work properly and have recurring maintenance problems. Effective and long lasting electric fencing cannot be made very inexpensive unlike temporary fences.

Solar fencing must be erected on the farm land with full participation of the community in installation and maintenance of the fences instead of embarking upon fencing the entire national park or sanctuary.

Involvement of village communities, NGOs, forest department and the suppliers in community fences is the best way to ensure successful control of crop damages along farmlands bordering protected parks and sanctuaries.
